As caregivers, we know that a home-cooked meal can bring comfort and joy to those we care for. This month, we’re excited to share a delicious and easy-to-make recipe: “Anything Goes” Quiche! Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a light dinner, this flexible dish lets you use whatever meat, cheese, or vegetables you have on hand—making it both convenient and nutritious. Plus, it’s packed with leafy greens rich in magnesium, iron, and vitamins A, C, and K.

Ingredients

  1. 1 refrigerated pie crust
  2. 5 eggs
  3. 1 cup half-and-half
  4. ½ teaspoon seasoning of your choice (mustard, dill, or rosemary work well)
  5. ¾ cup cooked and crumbled bacon, sausage, or chopped leftover ham
  6. 1 cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese
  7. 1 cup spinach or kale, torn or chopped
  8. ½ cup of your favorite diced vegetable (e.g., tomato, broccoli, asparagus, bell peppers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and press it into place.
  2. Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, and your chosen seasoning in a medium bowl.
  3. Layer the fillings into the crust: meat, cheese, leafy greens, and veggies.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the top until everything is covered.
  5. Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

A Special Touch

Consider pairing the quiche with fresh fruit, toast, or a small salad. Ask your client what their favorite add-ins might be—this recipe is a great way to bring back memories and make use of leftovers in a tasty, comforting meal.
